The perfect wedding day makeup starts with glowing skin. Get plenty of rest, eat right, drink a lot of water and exercise. Those are keys to gorgeous skin. Keep your skin routine simple. We recommend using a gentle cleanser like Cetaphil, a skin brush, good moisturizer and an effective sunscreen. Though a professional skin brush runs close to $200, it will last for years.

Select a foundation that matches your skin tone. This is one beauty area where it pays to get expert advise. Go to a department store and have a make up artist help match your skin with a foundation. Use a matte foundation if you have oily skin.

Blush should be in a shade that works with your skin tone. Add a little extra so you don’t look washed out in the photos but be careful not to add to much.

A neutral eye is best. You want everyone’s eyes on you not on your eye makeup and you want your photos to appear classic for years. So stick with taupes, beiges and other shades for a subtle look. Use an eyelash curler to make your eyes pop and follow with several coats of mascara. False eyelashes also add extra oomph, just be sure to practice before the big day.

Wear a lipstick shade that is a little brighter so it shows up in the photos. Gloss can make your lips look fuller just take care that it does not make your lipstick bleed.
